Cool Clothing USA is an awesome small business that sells clothing that, like the name implies, stays cool. The company actually started as a husband (Iraq War Vet) and wife (marathon runner) that know how important moisture wicking clothing can be to people in intense situations. Even when you’re not in an intense situation, you could just be using them for fitness training, the results are there. These shirts live up to the claims made about them. They are both inexpensive and well made.

That brings me to my review. I was approached to write a review for one of the moisture wicking shirts that Cool Clothing sells. As someone that is transgendered, I am always on the lookout for a good, inexpensive compression top. These shirts can get pretty expensive, so if I can find one that does its job and doesn’t cost a pretty penny it gives me a chance to send business to the company. The Moisture Wicking Compression tops at Cool Clothing only run about $24, minus the cost of shipping. This is not a bad deal at all.

I received one of the shirts in Navy Blue (they also come in white and black). As you would expect the shirt stretches to fit your body. Once I put it on, I could immediately see a difference. I could see spots in my arms, chest, and stomach were compressed. The biggest change was in my chest, which was fine by me. The most important thing though, was that the shirt was comfortable.

When I first put it on I thought that it would be too tight in the arms. However, as it is made partially from spandex, it ended up fitting well and being comfortable. I have temperature issues, which leave me cold a lot of the time so I was wondering how this would work. What I found was that it did keep me cool, but I was never cold. It’s also excellent when it’s warm out because it stops me from getting too hot or overheating.

I’ve had this washed a couple of times and have not noticed one change in it since I received it. It’s nice to know that it won’t diminish with time or use, at least, not in the early stages. While I was sent the short sleeved, Cool Clothing also sells a long sleeved compression top for just $5 more, which isn’t bad at all. In fact, for the price you pay you really cannot beat this value. It’s an excellent shirt and I highly recommend you check it out.

You can pick up one of these shirts online by visiting Cool Clothing USA. In addition to the compression tops you can also check out their line of Undershirts, Women’s Items (from Sports Bras to Capris), and Shorts. Cool Clothing USA attempts to suit the needs of all customers so you will find both small and above average sizes available.

In our community, we’re always looking for something that compares to the quality of Under Armour Compression clothing. I am here to tell you Cool Clothing USA meets and beats the quality of Under Armour and then some. If you want the more affordable option with as good as, if not better, quality go with Cool Clothing USA. It’s an added bonus that you will be supporting a family that has served my (and your) country well through their service and dedication.

Recently, Gillette put out six new styling products for men’s hair. Whether you’re going for the messy look or want something more refined, I am sure that Gillette offers something to help you get the style that you desire. I have sung the praises of Gillette in past reviews for their body care lines and for their shampoo and conditioner. If you’ve read the other reviews you might find me saying some of the same things. Gillette has produced some great products for fair prices and that’s just one of the reasons that I like them.

Before we get too detailed let me mention the new products and let you know their purpose.

Gillette Style Sculpting Paste: If you’re looking to be able to change hairstyles without having to reapply more styling product this is the paste for you. You can go from one style to the next with relative ease and only one product application. This spreadable paste is also easy to work with, which is another plus.

Precision Putty: Creating a matte finish, the precision putty let’s you mold your hair to create a chunky, highly messed look. I admit I don’t normally style my hair this way, but if your hair is a little longer, this putty would work excellent for you.

Mess Constructor: With this you can make your hair look as messy as you want it, while it’s still technically styled. This is best compared to a gel, with a strong hold, a nice texture, and a number of styling options.

Flex Gel: This is perfect for gel lovers that want the spiky or gelled look, but want their hair to not have that hardened look that often comes with styling products. While this doesn’t last as long as power gel, you can put this on after the shower and be certain that it will hold for a good 12 hours.

Power Gel: Similar to the Flex Gel though a little more hardcore in nature. This gel lasts for 24 hours and offers a strong sense of definition and texture. If you need a stronger hold, this is the way that you will want to go.

Flexible Hairspray: This is pretty similar to other hair sprays that you have used over the years. The difference being that this one offers a strong hold that lasts through time and weather.

After pricing these at the store, I have to say that they are either on level or cheaper than the top brands. The cheapest I found these for was around $3-4 and the most was around $6-7. I’ve always been a big gel user and I have to admit, I am quite fond of the Flex Gel. I love the fact that my hair can remain so soft and yet it’s still spiked or styled the way that I want it. The Power Gel is excellent, too, though I do not use that as much, or at least, I haven’t yet. I am sure that if I were going out and wanted to make sure that the style would hold I would look to the Power Gel.

I am not a big messy hair person, mainly because my hair isn’t really long enough for that. So, I haven’t really spent a lot of time trying out the mess constructor and the matte products. However, just going off of the gel and hair spray, I am sure that they, too, are worth every penny.

I am happy to say that Gillette has something to meet all of my needs from hair to body. I am quite happy with all of the products that Gillette has sent me and I will continue to buy them long after they are gone. As I have said in previous reviews, these Gillette hair care products come highly recommended.

After trying the Gillette Body Wash that was sent to me, I couldn’t wait to try the shampoo and conditioner. I am very particular about my hair care products. I have used my fair share of brands looking for something to keep my hair clean and manageable. These days, when seeking out a new brand, price is one of the first things I look at. I am more than willing to pay a fair amount for something that is good quality. Still, if I am unfamiliar with the product or if I know that something else works as good and is cheaper, than I am more likely to buy that to save some money.

Prior to this review I had not tried Gillette Shampoo or Conditioner. In truth, I didn’t even know they made shampoo and conditioner. I had run the gamut of professional products from Redkin to Paul Mitchell, and while they are good products, spending $15 on a bottle of shampoo isn’t always in my budget.

Gillette is generally not more than a few dollars depending on which store you go to and the bottles you purchase are as big, if not bigger than the competitors brands. In this economy, the price of any decently made product is one of the best selling points of all.

While the price was important to me, what I really needed was a product to keep my hair in check. Some days my hair feels oily and other days it feels dry and brittle. It’s incredibly erratic, but it wasn’t always that way. I’d welcomed the chance to try a new shampoo as that can sometimes help revitalize your hair and that was just what I needed.

Come to find out, Gillette might just become my new brand of shampoo and conditioner. My girlfriend commented on the scent before anything. I mentioned how amazing the body wash smells and the shampoo smells equally as good according to her. Not only that, but the smell lingers without disappearing too soon. I was incredibly happy with the quality of the scent.

After using the shampoo my hair was soft and smooth. It felt great! I probably could have gotten away with not using the conditioner, but as I needed to review it I decided to give it a shot. It only made things better. I noticed that after using the conditioner my hair felt incredibly silky. It don’t remember it feeling that good in a long time. My hair felt amazingly clean after using both the shampoo and conditioner and it still felt great when I woke up the next day. Normally, it has that need to be washed feeling, but this time it felt great, which was nice even though I wash my hair daily.

I was unfamiliar with the multitude of Gillette products, but after the amazing experiences that I have had, you can bet when I am out shopping for something to do with male hygiene I will be checking to see if Gillette offers any available options. So far, everything that I have tried has rocked my world.

I use the conditioner in small doses so the bottle should last me for quite some time. I could use more, but I find that I just don’t need it. My hair ends up soft and manageable from the shampoo and is easily styled with the Gillette styling products when I am ready to do my hair. These are great products and I cannot stress how highly recommended they come.

Gillette has easily replaced my top choice for men’s products. Once the shampoo and conditioner are gone, I will be off to the store to pick up another bottle or two, depending on my needs. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced brand of shampoo and conditioner for men, you would have a hard time finding a better product for your buck. Gillette comes highly recommended!

Manufacturer: VTech
Model: VTech CS6129-31

Cordless phones are an absolute necessity for a person in a wheelchair. I could technically use a phone with a cord, though it’s much easier if I am prepared by having the phone with me while awake and on the charger when asleep. Prior to receiving this VTech for review we had another cordless phone, by Uniden that was the cause of much frustration. I could barely hear on the phone and the battery had to be constantly charged.

I was so happy to receive the VTech CS6129-31 because the prior phone only had one handset and the reception was never good. It constantly sounded like static filled the line. It was a big pain and while I had been looking to replace it, phones can be expensive. I was hesitant to spend a lot of money on the model that would be my next phone, just in case that phone happened to be static filled, too! When Vtech offered to send a phone over for review, I looked at their DECT 6.0 line and opted for the CS6129-31.

For under one hundred dollars you’re not going to find a better phone. The reception is crystal clear and the range is decent. I have family out of state who constantly struggled to hear me on my old phone, but this one works like a charm. Of course, I don’t need to take my primary handset very far, because this comes with a total of three phones, so I can space them out around the house. Still, if I wanted I could take this all the way to my mailbox (across the street) and the reception is still decent. The VTech CS6129-31 easily allows me to hear and be heard.

Look/Appearance:
The Vtech CS6129-31 is just a little bit bigger than the palm of my hand. This makes it perfect for my needs. I needed something that was lightweight and easy to manage so anything bigger or heavier would have been a problem for me. Not only does this fit with my health needs, it works fashion wise, too. The CS6129-31 is a sleek addition to my home. The phone itself is black and the base is metallic graphite, so it blends in just fine with any room it’s placed in.

The phones have an orange backlight that appears when the phone rings and when it is turned on. Vtech also has a number of phones that offer blue backlights. I will admit that I had my heart set on the blue and didn’t think I would like the orange. I decided on this model, despite it not looking like I wanted in the beginning, because I thought it would be the better phone for me. Come to find out, I like the orange much more than I thought I would. In fact, I am quite glad that I chose the orange, though I still think the blue (which is my favorite color) looks great, too.

Affordability:
I would be surprised if you found a multi-handset phone with this amount of quality for less than the $80 price tag that this Vtech model comes with. I was actually quite impressed with the price. Generally, visiting the local Wal-mart will turn up much higher price tags for phones that have more than one handset. I think the common prices are well over a hundred dollars. So, it was refreshing to see something much cheaper that works just as good or better than those models might.

I would have no problem recommending this model or suggesting Vtech, as a whole, to my friends whether they have disabilities or not. The price is fair and my expectations were far exceeded. The CS6129-31 is definitely worth the cost.

Specs/Features:
The VTech CS6129-31 has all of the basic calling features, though the DECT 6.0 technology does put this VTech above the pack in terms of quality and security. The CS-6129-31 also comes with a one year warranty. Below is a list of some of the basic and not so basic features for this wonderful phone.

DECT 6.0 Digital Technology (Provides exemplary sound quality, security, and enhanced range)
Three Individual Handsets for One Line (Only one jack is required/necessary to run all handsets)
Call Waiting
Caller ID which Stores 50 Names/Numbers
Digital Answering System
Speakerphone
Intercom function between Handsets
Conference Calling
Outside Calling between Handsets
Phonebook Directory that Holds 50 Numbers
Ability to transfer calls from one handset to another
Orange Backlit Keypad

Functionality:
I have been using the VTech CS-6129-31 for the past month. While I would normally get a review done faster, with phones I like to use them for a bit longer to make sure that the quality does not go down after you’ve owned it for awhile. Well, I am happy to report that this phone has not changed at all since I took it out of the box. It was perfect for my needs when I took it out of the box and it still meets and beats every expectation that I have for a basic cordless phone.

My favorite feature is the intercom. If I am in one room and want to talk to someone or need something, instead of hollering (something I had to do before) I can just pick up the phone in the room I am in and call the phone that is in the other room. For example, my phone is number 3. Phone 1 is in the kitchen and 2 is in the living room. To call someone in another room I just need to pick up my phone, hit the intercom (INT) button and press the number that represents the phone that I want to ring.

Another handy feature, at least for me, as I sometimes get tired holding the phone up (my disability affects my arms) is the one-touch speakerphone. On the left hand side of the handset, the first button is the speakerphone. All it takes is one touch and it’s working. On previous models, I have noticed that the button for the speakerphone will be on the base not the phone itself. This addition on the phone makes it much easier for me, especially when I am on an important call. Additionally, the speakerphone sounds equally as clear, which is not always the case with other phones. I’ve used many speakerphones in my day and this one is the best On some phones I have been known to end a call due to tiredness in my arms, rather than use the speakerphone, but that is no longer an issue thanks to the VTech phone I’m using now.

Ease of Use:
As far as phones go, you won’t find one simpler to use. Under the speakerphone button is the Talk button. You can press it before or after you input the number. On the opposite side in red is the End button. Redial, Mute, and INT (intercom) are the buttons that run along the bottom section of buttons on the phone. Considering these are your basic features and they are clearly labeled, people won’t have a problem using these phones at all. The directory is equally as easy to use permitting you can follow basic instructions.

People that have minor vision problems will enjoy the orange backlight. When you get a call the main screen, which is fairly large offers the name of the caller in larger print. With the backlight shining and the larger text it makes it incredibly easy to read. Everything about this phone makes using it easy and effortless.

Overall Quality:
The VTech CS6129-31 is an excellent phone that is perfect for families and individuals regardless of physical ability. The ability to buy one phone and have three handsets means that each phone is just a few moments from you no matter where you are in the house. The main base includes a digital answering machine, as well, so everything that you could possibly need where a phone is concerned is included. I am thrilled and surprised to say that there are no complaints to list. This is perfect for people with disabilities and people that are able bodied. In either situation, you receive a fairly priced phone that works better than the expensive models. The VTech CS6129-31 is highly recommended!

This is the first review as a part of my makeover series! What a way to start my 2009 makeover then with the deliciously scented, Gillette Body Wash!

I sometimes find it hard to find body wash that not only smells good, but also is kind to my skin. I have sensitive skin so the abrasiveness of soap or body wash is always a factor in whether or not I will buy a product. Living in Michigan, especially in the winter, means that I am prone to extremely dry skin. I like the fact that the Gillette Dry Skin Hydrator + Body Wash works with all of the skin issues that I face.

My experience with Gillette products goes about as far as their age old slogan, “The Best a Man can Get.” However, I welcomed the chance to review this and the other products that were available to me because Gillette is one of the leading men’s brands on the market for things that fall under the realm of health and beauty.

Prior to trying this Gillette body wash out, I was a supporter and user of Axe body wash. Of course, after my experience with Gillette I just might end up changing brands, because Gillette has impressed me that much. One of the things that I like the most about Gillette is the price. Depending on where you buy this body wash you can pick up a 12 oz bottle for between $3 and $5. The Axe body wash is the same size, but it tends to cost about 50 cents more per bottle.

Originally, I thought that the various scents that body washes like Axe offer would be a better benefit, however, I enjoyed the strong masculine scent of the Gillette body wash even more. This only applies to the specific body wash I received (Gillette Dry Skin Hydrator + Body Wash). Since there are other types of body wash, I am not sure if the scents are different. The other types include Gentle Clean Shampoo + Body Wash and Oil Control Face Wash + Body Wash. The scent for the Dry Skin Hydrator ends up being much stronger on the skin than Axe or other male options for body products. So, I smell of Gillette for longer than I have when using these other brands!

While I often feel clean when I use other products I do not always notice the clean scent or the scent of the body wash in the same way as I did after using Gillette. I can smell the pleasing scent of the body wash on my skin and that’s what I want in a body wash. In fact, it was strong enough for me to go without cologne and still manage to smell pretty good.

The Gillette Dry Skin Hydrator + Body Wash was perfect for me because my skin is not only sensitive, but it has a tendency to be quite itchy sometimes. The Hydrator generates plenty of lather and according to the bottle, it includes three times the hydrators of other national brands. All I know is that when I used it my skin ended up feeling much smoother and itching wasn’t an issue that immediately troubled me after bathing.

I suspect, just based on the feel that the more this is used the less itching will be a problem for me and that makes this an incredibly useful product. Of course, if dry skin is not a problem of yours you might look to the 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash or face wash/body wash instead. Both seem to be priced similarly to the Gillette Dry Skin Hydrator + Body Wash, and I’m assuming they smell nearly as good.

I highly recommend Gillette Body Wash. While I had never used it before this review, it is certainly something I will be purchasing in the future. The bottle is relatively inexpensive, it lasts a long time as a little goes a long way, and it smells great. I would have bought it for these reasons alone, but the fact that it helps with issues of dry skin and relieving itching is an added bonuses that I won’t complain about.

You can find Gillette products just about anywhere that you shop for men’s body products. Most discount and drug stores should have them, as well as a number of online shopping venues such as Drugstore.com. Considering the range of prices that I have found for Gillette Body Wash, you might want to shop around a bit as it could save you a dollar or more. Other than that, I highly recommend you pick up one of the three versions of Gillette Body Wash the next time you are shopping for yourself or the men in your life.

When it comes to Body Wash Gillette truly is the best a man can get!

Scent: 5 out of 5 stars
Likelihood it will be Used Again: 5 out of 5 stars
Price: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Comparison to Normal Brand: 5 out of 5 stars
Overall Rating: 4.88 out of 5 stars
